The Sonic Humanist Project: A Legacy in Four Movements

The Sonic Humanist Project represents my legacy—an exploration of how sound shapes memory, identity, and culture. It comprises a four-part symphony of story, strategy, and signal, created over a lifetime in studios, on stages, and in cities worldwide. I believe that music and sound, along with the vibrations they produce, possess immense healing power.

1. Sound Strategies

A field guide to the future of vibration. This book explores the creative and commercial potential of audio, examining what sound truly means for brands, podcasters, voice artists, and storytellers. It’s not just about what you hear; it’s about how you feel—and what you remember.

2. TED Talk: The World’s Greatest Jingle Producer

In this talk, I pull back the curtain on one of the most recognized sounds on Earth—the sonic logo I helped shape for T-Mobile. We’ll explore how a four-note jingle became a billion-dollar brand—and what that reveals about the emotional logic of sound in a distracted world. It’s not a humblebrag; it’s an acknowledgment of the power of sound to unite us.

3. The Diplomat’s Son

A memoir of dislocation, listening, and love. From London to Johannesburg to Melbourne, I followed my father—an American diplomat—through the geopolitical heartache of the late 20th century. Along the way, I learned to tune my ears to the unheard, the silenced, and the forgotten. It’s not a hero’s journey—it’s a listener’s journey. Music is the universal breath that unites us.

4. Song in Space

An 11-year-old music prodigy named Song is fleeing from a glitchy robot queen across the galaxy. Part audio drama, part A/R game, and part animated series, “Song in Space” is a wild, genre-bending ride through the science of sound and the essence of creativity. It’s designed to spark curiosity in young minds—and bring joy to all ages.

This is the Sonic Humanist Project:

A call to listen more deeply.

A reminder that music brings us together.

A belief that vibration and breath are the language of legacy.

Because in the end, what we hear is who we are.

I will focus on this project almost exclusively for the rest of the year. All elements are complete and are currently in production and publication. Please support the work as it appears in your feed.

Another important aspect of my work is staying off the digital plantation and exploring new ways for artists to support themselves in the radically changed environment of entertainment and art. Independent artistry is the future of art. The platforms that have harmed our community can be used to support it, but it requires a commitment from everyone. Ultimately, it’s about fostering a supportive community for the arts.

The tools and platforms I use are highly effective for building audiences and creating art. Bandcamp, YouTube, and Wix sites enable us to distribute our work. Kickstarter and Patreon, along with MailChimp, help us foster a community. Community is more crucial than ever for artistic freedom. We ask for your support, participation, ideas, and passion.

Additionally, I aim to utilize my skills in brand communication to engage brands in our cause. Our cause supports artists and music education. Brands like Sweetwater, Fender, and Sony are currently being pitched. We are offering sponsorship, along with audio ads featured within our program, voiced by our characters. This is a new media initiative that enables brands to engage in our immersive, ad-friendly storytelling fully. It leverages our award-winning skills that brands have successfully utilized for years.

Furthermore, I plan to make this entire project as much of a union endeavor as possible, backed by generous contract terms from SAG/AFTRA. I’ve been a union worker my whole life, and I don’t see a reason to stop now. The unions protect artists. It’s a jungle out there, and I can use all the help available. Supporting and assisting artists is my lifelong passion. I’m not against non-union talent; I’m against exploitation.

The campaign for fundraising and support for the beautiful and fun Song in Space project starts next week. You’ll see a lot about Song in Space. We launched on Kickstarter in mid-September, so we’re rolling out an awareness campaign. Look, many feeds are filled with artists, especially older artists who worked in more generous times. Those times are gone. We need to move on. All my work building Studiu Jijiji has focused on moving forward. I’m fortunate to have achieved substantial success in animation and marketing. But it was my 11 years in video games that opened my eyes to new possibilities in community building for supporting artistic projects—much gratitude to Alex Fernadez for that experience.

What we need more than anything are your likes, subscriptions, and shares, all of which help. Please be generous with your fingers; it’s essential to our success.

Finally, we are seeking collaborators—players, actors, producers, set designers, artists, social media whiz kids, and anyone else with a passion for art, music, and storytelling. If you want to get involved, please reach out.

Dear valued audience,

We kindly request respect for our work and the talented artists behind it. Each piece we publish is crafted with sincere gratitude and dedication. It's important to recognize that sampling, scraping, or repurposing our creativity without permission is not only discourteous but also undermines the integrity of our efforts.

Instead, we invite you to consider becoming a part of our community, where together, we can contribute to the creation of captivating, innovative, and thought-provoking sonic art. Your involvement will not only enrich our collective experience but also ensure that meaningful and original content continues to flourish.

On behalf of the Jijiji community, we express our gratitude for your interest in our ideas, stories, performances, and content. Your support is invaluable as we strive to bring unique and inspiring creations to the world.

Warm regards,

Chris
