I’m Launching a Kickstarter, and I’m Scared

We're preparing to launch a Kickstarter for Song in Space. Why am I nervous? This moment feels like opening night—the kind of jittery excitement that builds backstage, behind the curtain, as you wait for it to rise. Launching the Kickstarter for Song in Space feels exactly like that.

After years of packing this suitcase, the journey is about to begin. And what a journey it has been already!

We have an incredible cast ready to bring this story to life, but they need support.

We have a brilliant composer crafting the melodies of the universe, and he needs support.

We have a sound designer creating the immersive world of Mixopia and beyond, and guess what? They need support too.

And let’s not forget the casting director, the writer (me!), the producer, and the countless moving parts that go into creating a story as ambitious as Song in Space.

Why Kickstarter?

In 2025, raising funds for an original IP—especially one focused on music education, family connection, and screen-free entertainment—is no small feat. Big studios want established franchises, but Song in Space is something new. It’s for kids, for families, for dreamers. It’s a story that tackles big ideas like creativity, growing up, and finding your voice in a noisy world. And we're launching it as an audio drama.

But I believe in this project. I believe in Song in Space. And I believe there are people out there who want to support meaningful stories for the next generation.

Why This Feels Like Jumping Off a Cliff

Launching a Kickstarter isn’t just about raising money; it’s about vulnerability. It’s saying to the world:

“Hey, I’ve worked really hard on this. I think it’s good. I hope you do, too.”

It’s terrifying. But it’s also exhilarating.

So here I am, standing at the edge, closing my eyes, and jumping.

How You Can Help

If you’ve ever believed in the power of storytelling to shape young minds, if you’ve ever wanted to see more creativity in the world, or if you’re simply curious about what lies beyond the curtain, I invite you to join us.

It's not quite ready yet, but it will be soon—maybe three weeks. When we launch, visit our Kickstarter page, share the campaign, and, if you’re able, contribute. Every single dollar, share, and kind word makes a difference.

Together, we can bring Song in Space to life.

Thank you for believing in us, for dreaming with us, and for standing with us as the curtain rises.

Here we go. 🚀
