Abandon Worry

Work with passion. Always.

I believe in jumping off a cliff. It’s weird, because I don’t think I’d ever jump off a cliff. I’d walk up to the edge sure. But I love my life. I protect my life.

But emotionally I’m built to take risks. In business I take risks. I’ve been fabulously successful and gut-punching unsuccessful. I’ve had it both ways. All ways. And think that’s the way an artist lives their life.

Abandon worry. If it works, it works. If you die broke, you die broke. If you do a good job, good, if you failed, you fail. What matters is the brush in your hand. The line. The lip against the silver of your instrument. The steel cutting into the fresh on your fingertips. The physicality of your intent. The focus you choose to bring to the day. Day after day.

Your last breath should have as much intent as your first and all the breaths in between. That’s the artist’s life.
